Ms Cynthia Brumfield, Senior Director, Communications Media Analysis Group, Pike & Fischer
Ms. Brumfield is Senior Director of the Communications Media Analysis Group at Pike & Fischer. Ms. Brumfield joined P&F with the company's late-2003 acquisition of broadband media consulting firm, Broadband Intelligence, which she founded in 1999. The CMA Group publishes Broadband Daily (www.broadband-daily.com), the first and best daily publication devoted to the broadband businesses and VoIP Monitor (www.voip-monitor.com), a weekly publication delivering timely analysis of the burgeoning VoIP market. The Communications Media Analysis Group also hosts timely audio conferences on important media and communications issues and prepares special reports on emerging broadband and new media issues.
Broadband Intelligence published newsletters, including its hallmark product, Broadband Daily, prepared special reports and conducted consulting projects for media industry clients. Among the top-tier media and telecommunications clients advised by Ms. Brumfield while at Broadband Intelligence were America Online, Showtime Networks, MSN, Gemstar-TV Guide and Nortel Networks.
Ms. Brumfield is a veteran media and communication industry analyst, having served as a Senior Analyst at Paul Kagan Associates, where she was lead analyst on Cable TV Technology (now Broadband Technology), Digital Media Investor and Interactive TV newsletters. Ms. Brumfield also developed landmark conferences on broadband delivery to the TV and PC, digital TV and interactive TV trends. While at Kagan, Ms. Brumfield also led consulting projects for leading media and communications companies.
Prior to joining Paul Kagan Associates, Ms. Brumfield served as V.P. of Research and Policy Analysis at the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, where she led a team of researchers and outside consultants. At NCTA, Ms. Brumfield developed studies on cable and competing technologies for submission to state and federal regulatory policymakers and prepared internal industry studies for NCTA members. Prior to joining NCTA, Ms. Brumfield was Director of Research for The Media Institute.
She is widely quoted in the press and trade publications on a range of broadband and new media issues.

Mr Franceso Caio, CEO, Cable & Wireless
Francesco Caio was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Cable and Wireless plc in April 2003. Born on 23rd August, 1957 in Naples, he holds a master’s degree in Computer Science at the Politecnico of Milan (1980) and an MBA, as a Luca Braito Scholar, at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France (1985).
From 1982 to 1984 he was Product Manager, Telecom Systems, for Olivetti S.p.A. From 1986 to 1991 he was at Mckinsey & Co in London where he specialised in strategy and development for multinational clients in the telecommunications and media industries. In 1991 he rejoined Olivetti and in 1994 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Omnitel Pronto Italia S.p.A. In 1996 he became CEO of Olivetti S.p.A, Ivrea. In 1997 he became Chief Executive Officer of Merloni Elettrodomestici S.p.A. In April 2000 he established Netscalibur of which he was the CEO.

Mr Brian Day, Vice President, Wireline Solutions, Nortel Networks
Brian Day has worked in Nortel for 18 years. At present he is the VP responsible for the Carrier Voice portfolio business in Europe, Middle East and Africa, he has held this responsibility for the last 3 years. He was appointed to this role after being responsible for the PLM for the carrier switching portfolio in Europe, Asia and Latin American. Prior to this he worked in a number of roles from product planning through to marketing, working with the mobile division and the enterprise division of Nortel.

Prior to leading the US arm of Energis he held a number of senior marketing and sales positions with Energis in the UK, Unisource Carrier Services in Switzerland and Telia in Sweden. Mr. Ericsson has 18 years of experience from the telecommunications industry. He has educational background in engineering and business administration.

Mr Steven Evans, CEO, BT Mobile
Steven Evans is currently chief executive of BT Mobile where he has responsibility for the development of BT’s MVNO business and its fixed mobile convergence strategy in pursuit of BT’s aggressive customer and revenue growth targets. Evans, 49, is a former deputy managing director of One 2 One (UK) where he led the development of their successful Mobile Virtual Network Operator relationship with Virgin.
Evans has more than 15 years experience in the communications and technology industries and was previously Deputy Chief Executive of Bouygues Telecom in France between 1994 and 1998. Prior to this he was General Manager of Optus Communications which he launched in 1991 and most recently he was CEO of Dolphin Telecommunications.
He has two young children Ben and Hannah and lives in Taplow in the Thames Valley.

Mr Epsen Fjogstad, CEO, Telio
Since 1997, Espen Fjogstad has worked as investor investor/entrepeneur, working with a range of technology companies, some of which he co-founded. In 1999 he co-founded Global IP Sound, a company best known for delivering the voice technology behind Skype and developing iLBC, the first low bit rate codec ever to become an IETF standard. In 2003 he co-founded Telio. Since founding Telio, he has been serving as Telio’s CEO. In less than one year, Telio became Europes largest and fastest growing access independent VoIP provider, moving for a period nearly 1 % of the Norwegian broadband population to its service every month.

Mr Serge Fortin, SVP Sales and Marketing, FLAG Telecom
Serge Fortin joined FLAG Telecom in August 2004 as Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, responsible for global sales, sales support, marketing and corporate communications. Prior to joining FLAG, Serge was Vice Chairman, Teleglobe, Canada. At Teleglobe, Serge also held a number of senior positions in engineering, operations, marketing and sales, including President, Worldwide Sales, Executive Vice President – Voice and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Teleglobe Serge was President and CEO of Bell Actimedia, managing the Yellow Pages, electronic business, Sympatico portal and Sympatico Internet access provider. Serge began his career at Bell Canada, where he held various executive roles in Engineering, Operations, Strategic Planning, Marketing, Budgeting and Sales. Serge is a member of the Executive Management team and is based in the London offices of FLAG Telecom. He has a bachelor’s degree in pure and applied sciences from the Universite de Sherbrooke.

Mr Matteo Gatta, Head of International Product Management, Belgacom International Carrier Services
Matteo Gatta joined Belgacom in 2002 and has been recently appointed Head of Product Management. At Belgacom he developed the “Global Mobile Village” proposition specifically tailored to address Mobile Operators. Matteo has built a solid reputation in the mobile industry, as contributor to several key GSMA initiatives aiming at shaping the future of inter-carrier wireless data communications. Prior to joining Belgacom, Matteo worked for 2 years at GTS Ebone (later KPNQwest) as Director of Product Development where he launched to market several products in the area of IP, Security and Hosting. Prior to GTS Ebone he worked at Infostrada and Telecom Italia Mobile, covering several expert positions in the area of Network Planning & Engineering. Matteo Gatta holds a Laurea in Electronic Engineering and a Master in Information Technology at Polytechnic of Milan. He is fluent in English and Italian.

Mr Ofer Gneezy, President and CEO, iBasis
Ofer Gneezy is President and Chief Executive Officer of iBasis, the global leader in Internet-based voice communications. As co-founder of iBasis in 1996, Mr. Gneezy is a recipient of Pulver.com's Industry Pioneer Award and is one of the true visionaries of the IP telephony industry. He was an early believer in the power of the Internet to change global telecommunications and quickly established iBasis as the first provider of toll-quality Voice-over-IP (VoIP) service. Many of the world's largest carriers, including the largest U.S.-based international carriers, are iBasis customers. iBasis has carried more than six billion minutes of international voice traffic over its global Cisco Powered Network™, and is one of the ten largest carriers of international voice traffic in the world. For the past three years the company has been named by service providers as the best international wholesale carrier in Atlantic-ACM's annual International Wholesale Carrier Report Card. Prior to founding iBasis in 1996 Mr. Gneezy was president of Acuity Imaging, Inc., a multinational leader in industrial automation technology. Mr. Gneezy is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University's Graduate School of Business Administration and has an M.S. in engineering from M.I.T.

Mr Michael Goldstein, Senior Engineer, Wireline Competition Bureau, FCC
Michael serves as a senior engineer in the Wireline Competition Bureau of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), serving as the technical expert on Internet and VoIP matters and on lawful intercept. In that role he assists attorneys and economists in assessing the regulatory impact of technologies being proposed and developed, and the technological implications of proposed legislation and rulemakings. Prior to joining the FCC he served as the Senior Director for IP engineering at Cable & Wireless where he led an endeavor to architect, design and implement a global tier one Internet backbone. Before that he directed a group performing telecommunications analysis for a major Federal agency, directed a team that provided voice and data services for a major financial institution and managed the Federal government’s voice telecommunications system. He also has performed consulting and research assignments. Dr. Goldstein graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of California at Berkeley from which he also holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Mr Dmitry Goroshevsky, CEO, Popular Telephony
Dmitry Goroshevsky, a leading Internet Telephony pioneer , incorporated Popular Telephony Inc. in 2001. He has over a decade of expertise in IP telephony.
From 1996 to 2000, Mr. Goroshevsky was CEO of Internet Telecom Ltd., one of the first IP telephony core technology development companies to spearheaded the development of advanced IP telephony systems for the broadband cable and PBX markets. Mr. Goroshevsky has guided Internet Telecom through innovation, growth and sale in 2000 to Terayon Communications Systems (NASDAQ: TERN).
Trained as a media communications producer and director, Mr. Goroshevsky was influenced by the expansion of the Internet in the early 90s and became one of the first to recognize and develop the potential of voice over IP. In 1995, he co-founded and managed Delta Three (NASDAQ: DDDC), the first global VoIP service provider. During the late 80s, Mr. Goroshevsky co-founded the First Open University in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Mr. Goroshevsky's innovative vision and business insight have culminated in the design, development and patenting of the serverless telephony concept that created Popular Telephony's Peerio(TM).

Mr Carl J Grivner, CEO, XO Communications
Carl J. Grivner is Chief Executive Officer of XO Communications.
Mr. Grivner's career in telecom and technology spans more than 25 years. He previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Global Crossing. Prior to joining Global Crossing in June 2000, Mr. Grivner served as Chief Executive Officer of Worldport Communications and before that he served as Chief Executive Officer, Western Hemisphere, of Cable & Wireless PLC. Additionally, Mr. Grivner has held various senior executive positions at Advanced Fiber Communications and Ameritech. Mr. Grivner began his career working in sales at IBM. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975-1978. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Lycoming College.

Mr Tom Gruenwald, Executive Vice President, Broadband Network Products, Tellabs
J. Thomas (Tom) Gruenwald, 56, is executive vice president of Tellabs’ broadband networking products. In this role, Gruenwald has all profit and loss responsibility including research and development, product line management and product-specific marketing for Tellabs data networking and managed access products. From 2002 through early 2004, Gruenwald was senior vice president of operations for Tellabs International, where he was responsible for Tellabs’ international product strategy and research and development. Gruenwald’s responsibilities included the development and marketing of the Tellabs® 6300 managed transport systems and Tellabs® 7200 SDH platforms in Copenhagen and the Tellabs® 8000 managed access systems in Finland. Prior to this, Gruenwald served as senior vice president of the Tellabs Broadband Access Group and vice president of strategic resources where he had responsibility for Tellabs HR and Information Systems. Gruenwald has worked at Tellabs since 1991 and has directed several engineering programs, including the company’s multiplexer, network management, digital signal processing and telephony-over-cable product lines. Before joining Tellabs, Gruenwald held a number of engineering and executive positions at AT&T Bell Laboratories in switching systems development and in computer systems development. He was also quality manager of the Computer Systems Division at AT&T from 1987 through 1990. He was Professor of Physics at the University of Portland, in Portland, Oregon, prior to starting with Bell Laboratories. Gruenwald holds a bachelor of science degree in physics from the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio, and holds master’s and Ph.D. degrees in theoretical physics from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. Gruenwald is chairman of the Edward Hospital Board and a member of Spectrum Control Technology Board. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Mr Clarence Hayes, Vice President, Voice and Convergence Solutions, Equant
Clarence Hayes leads Equant’s Voice & Video Solutions line of business. Based in Paris, and reporting to William Priest, Senior VP for Products & Solutions, Hayes is responsible for the performance of Equant’s portfolio of voice and video products and solutions, as well as strategy for the future enhancement of this portfolio. His goal is to further extend Equant’s lead as the provider of choice for global managed real time communications – network and premise, fixed and mobile, inclusive of end user devices and services – delivering solutions that help the global enterprise unlock the benefits of IP for voice and video. This development is guided by a total solution framework, which also includes integrated resale of 3rd party local services, and supports Equant’s communications outsourcing business.
Hayes is a newcomer to Equant – and the supplier side of the industry. After 15 years on the customer side, he joined Equant in late 2002, initially in a strategic sales role, and subsequently took on the Voice & Video product line in May 2003. He brings to Equant a rich and deep understanding of the requirements of the global enterprise, having lived the day to day challenges facing the corporate Telecom manager. He has managed every aspect of voice and multimedia services within the global enterprise – from finance and procurement, to customer service, operations, engineering and major project implementation. For four years, from late 1998 through 2002, he was responsible for Global Telecom & Network Sourcing at Deutsche Bank - based in New York and Frankfurt - managing the strategic procurement of more than $300 million per year of voice and data communications products and services. For a decade, from 1988 through 1998, he was with Morgan Stanley, in a variety of positions of increasing responsibility - initially in voice communications, but later covering both voice and data services - where he built a reputation within the Wall Street Telecom world for both creative technical solutions, and commercial acumen.
A US citizen and California native, Hayes also speaks German and Czech. He earned an MBA in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management in 1987, and his Bachelor’s (summa cum laude) from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1984.

Mike Hluchyj, CTO, Sonus Networks
Mike Hluchyj, founder and chief technology officer As founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Sonus Networks, Mike Hluchyj is responsible for setting the technical direction of the company and promoting the company's continuous innovation. Before founding Sonus in 1997, he was vice president and chief technology officer at Summa Four (acquired by Cisco), a leading supplier of intelligent, programmable switches for use in carrier networks. Prior to this, Dr. Hluchyj was director of networking research at Motorola Codex and on the technical staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories. He is a Fellow of the IEEE. Dr. Hluchyj is widely published on subjects such as cell relay switching and traffic management in integrated networks and is a frequent speaker at industry events. He has been awarded 28 U.S. patents. Dr. Hluchyj received his BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and his Masters and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Peter Hutterli came to FLAG Telecom in October 2003 continuing a long career in the Internet and IP industry. This started in 1995 in New Zealand where he ran the IP network for Telecom New Zealand's ISP for five years. Peter moved to Europe in 2000 where he has held a number of positions including CTO, IP Services for C&W Europe and Director, Business Development, Europe for Energis, based in Germany. Peter is now responsible for directing FLAG's IP business globally.

Prior to joining Sprint, Mr. Jubainville held numerous executive positions for Ebone including Vice President of IP Engineering and Vice President of Product Management & Development. Mr. Jubainville assisted in the transformation of the company’s product portfolio from purely wholesale carrier products to a complete portfolio of corporate products including Managed IP VPN services, Managed Hosting & Security Services, Voice over IP and Video Streaming services.
Mr. Jubainville holds a post-graduate degree in Systems and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the Faculty of Science and Engineering, at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is married with 2 children and lives in London, England.

Mr Neil Kinder, Technical Director, Europe, Middle East, Africa & Latin America, Sonus Networks
Neil Kinder is Technical Director at Sonus Networks where he is responsible for leading the development of opportunities for Carriers who wish to take advantage of Voice over Packet technologies.
The role mandates an understanding of traditional circuit-switched TDM infrastructures (including the various associated European standards) together with MGCP, SIP, H.323, xDSL, IP and ATM technologies and how the two worlds of circuit and packet can be brought together to provide sophisticated, high quality voice solutions.
Prior to joining Sonus Networks, Neil was the Technical Director at 3Com responsible for developing and implementing the technical strategies for the sales organisation in the UK and the pre-sales technical community in EMEA. Neil also served in a variety of other senior positions within 3Com including Network Consultancy, and managing a pre-sales team.
Prior to 1995, Neil was a Network Consultant with Digital for nine years.
Neil has a degree in Computer Science from Leeds Metropolitan University.

Tony Lavender, Director Telecoms Research, Ovum
Tony Lavender is director of Ovum’s global telecoms research programme and he is responsible for ensuring that Ovum’s telecoms research reflects the needs of Ovum’s customers.
Tony joined Ovum in 1999, since which time he has worked in senior consulting and research roles and specialised in industry strategy issues. He has twenty-four years experience in the telecoms industry. Prior to Ovum Tony was at Oftel where he played a leading role in competition and technical issues. Tony began his career with BT where he held a number of senior roles over a 17-year period.
Tony studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Queen Mary College, London and he is a chartered engineer and a member of the UK Institute of Electrical Engineers

Mr Karsten Lereuth, President, Wholesale Business, BT Global Services, BT Global Services
Karsten Lereuth is BT’s President for wholesale business outside the UK. Karsten has been actively involved in the successful development of the German internet economy since the mid-90s. After his university degree in engineering in 1990 he joined an IT system house as director of sales. In 1994 he worked for a Japanese hardware manufacturer as director of sales and marketing in Germany. In 1996 Karsten joined the Internet provider UUNET, the Internet division of WorldCom, as a member of the EMEA management team in several key functions, including managing director. In May 2001 he moved to Group 3G, the UMTS joint venture of Telefonica and Sonera, in Germany, where he was responsible for marketing, products and services. A senior executive in BT’s Global Services division since December 2002, Karsten has headed its Wholesale Business team since May 2004. Karsten is interested in the arts, motor racing and soccer. His mother tongue is German; he also speaks French and English.

Ms Eva Lindqvist, President, TeliaSonera International Carrier
Eva Lindqvist, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier, has held a long line of positions within the telecom industry.
Eva was previously employed by the Ericsson Group, where for 18 years she held leading positions in Japan, Australia and the US. Back in Sweden in 1998, Eva was nominated R & D Director for Corporate Technology at Ericsson.
After a year as Managing Partner at Sandberg & Trygg B2B advertising agency, Eva joined Telia in 2000 as Senior Vice President and project leader for broadening the ownership of companies in the Enterprises Business Area. The following year she was appointed Head of the Equity Business Area and became a member of Telia’s Group Management.
Early in 2002, Eva left Equity for Telia Mobile where she was assigned Senior Vice President with special responsibility for all staff units and overall strategic business development. In September 2002 Eva Lindqvist was appointed President of Telia International Carrier. Presently, Eva is responsible for all international carrier activities within the TeliaSonera Group and President of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
Eva Lindqvist was born in 1958 and holds a Master of Science, Engineering degree, in Applied Physics from Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Graduate School of Management, Melbourne University, Australia. TeliaSonera International Carrier, fully-owned by the TeliaSonera Group, provides wholesale, capacity and IP services to network and service providers. The services are based on the wholly-owned European and trans-Atlantic fibre network, and the IP network with peering points in Europe and in the US. The international voice business is focused on international interconnect agreements and bilateral routes.

Gerry Pearce is responsible for the global sales and marketing strategy of Net2Phone's Cable Technologies division, managing the team delivering a comprehensive outsourced IP telephony solution to cable operators worldwide. His goal is for Net2Phone to become the premier outsourced telecommunications provider for global cable operators. Net2Phone’s solution enables MSO's to reduce churn, generate incremental revenue and avoid exposure to capital and operating expenses by offering a high quality telephone service over existing broadband networks.
Mr. Pearce's expertise is in broadband voice technologies including carrier-grade VoIP in a Packet Cable environment. Mr. Pearce has been working on voice solutions for cable operators and telecommunications providers throughout Europe, North America and South America since 2000. Mr. Pearce is a graduate of Middlebury College.

Mr John Pluthero, CEO, Energis
John Pluthero is Chief Executive Officer of Energis joining the company in September 2002 to execute its turnaround strategy. Less than two years later, the company has recorded its first ever operating profit.
Previously, he was founder and Chief Executive of Freeserve where he pioneered the pay-as-you-go internet model, turned the company into the UK’s largest internet service provider and led it to its July 1999 flotation on the London Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.
The idea for Freeserve came to him during his role as Managing Director of Mastercare, part of the Dixons Group. Prior to this, he had held various strategy and operations positions within the group including Quality Director and Business Review Director. Other experience includes senior positions with Holiday Inn Worldwide and P&O.
John is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a degree in Economics.

Mr Carl Roberts, Vice President, EMEA Wholesale and Emerging Countries, MCI
Carl Roberts is responsible for MCI International Wholesale Services and Emerging Countries, a role he has held since March 2004. Prior to this, Roberts served as EMEA Chief of Staff focusing on business operations, development and restructuring activities in South Africa, the former Belgian JV and Emerging Countries. In 2003 Carl led the Strategy, Business Development and Country Management group. In 2002, Carl was responsible for Business Operations & Sales Support in the EMEA Wholesale Line of Business (LOB) in addition to heading up EMEA's "Upsides" revenue generation programme in 2002.
He joined MCI in September 2000 as Managing Director of International Data Centres, joining MCI from Global One, where he was Vice President of Corporate Business Development for Europe.
After beginning his career in the legal profession working for Ashurst, Morris, Crisp & Co, Carl moved into hi-tech where he gained extensive experience in the IT and telecommunications industries. Over a fourteen-year IBM career - spent largely with IBM's Global Network business - he held a range of positions with European responsibility, covering areas such as Business Operations, Business Development, Sales & Marketing and Product Management. Carl also managed a number of Regional Country business units, expanding his international experience with assignments in Italy and South Africa. Prior to leaving IBM, Carl was head of the EMEA Project Office responsible for the transition of IBM's Global Network business to AT&T in over 50 countries.
Carl Roberts holds a Masters Degree in Languages & Politics and is located in Paris, France.

Dave Schaeffer founded Cogent Communications in August 1999 and is the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding Cogent Communications, Mr. Schaeffer was the founder of Pathnet. He also developed a regional paging carrier and numerous SMR systems throughout the United States. Mr. Schaeffer has founded and operated a total of seven successful businesses, including the second-largest delivery and ground transportation enterprise in the United States and a property and casualty underwriter. Mr. Schaeffer has also developed 46 commercial real estate properties in the Washington D.C. metro area. Mr. Schaeffer holds a B.S. in Physics from the University of Maryland, where he was also a Ph.D. candidate in Economics.

Mr Craig Silliman, Vice President, International Regulatory Affairs, MCI
Craig Silliman is Vice President International Regulatory Affairs at MCI. In this role, Mr Silliman is responsible for MCI’s relationships with regulatory and policymaking bodies around the world with the goal of protecting and supporting the company’s business interests. He manages a team of legal, economic and technical experts spread throughout Europe, North America, and Asia. Silliman also serves on the MCI Peering Steering Committee, which is responsible for MCI’s peering policy and agreements. His principle office is located in MCI’s corporate headquarters in Ashburn, Virginia, but he spends a significant amount of time in the UK and in MCI’s other International offices.
Mr Silliman has been with MCI since 1997 and has played various key roles in the company’s International and policy efforts. He has served as Director of Public Policy for UUNET, has had responsibility for legal liability issues related to MCI’s Internet network, and has managed a team of lawyers responsible for international network expansion agreements. Prior to joining MCI, Mr Silliman was an attorney in the International trade practice at Collier, Shannon & Scott in Washington, DC. Additionally, he taught International Telecommunications Regulation as an Adjunct Professor at the American University School of Law.
Craig Silliman earned his BA in International Relations from the University of North Carolina and his law degree from the University of Virginia.

Mr Nick Topham, Head of Wholesale Practice and Associate Director, BroadGroup
Holding extensive experience in the ICT sector, Nick Topham specialises in providing advisory services to telecommunications operators and regulators, and in conducting business development activities in developing world markets, primarily in the Middle East and S.E. Asia. He also conducts "business turnaround", acquisitions and market development consultancy in the TMT sector.
His earlier roles include Founder and CEO of Equitel Communications focused on communications in developing markets, prior to which he was Director of the Global Communications and Entertainment practice at Arthur Andersen where he advised service provider organisations internationally on issues ranging from privatisation, valuations and acquisitions to the development of global services. During this time he managed the privatisation of Telecom Malta, and has also acted as consultant advisor to the operator in Oman.
His career has included thirteen years at BT where he was latterly Head of Market Development and Strategy for BT International Carrier Services. Nick was responsible for BT wholesale strategy in the context of the evolving international telecommunications market. He was also responsible for the strategy, product development and launch of the innovative wholesale refile product, Select, that subsequently carried billion of minutes.
He holds a bachelors degree in Bio-Medical Electronics, and a masters in Telecommunications Business from University College London.

Mr Eric Tveter, President and COO, Telewest
Eric Tveter was appointed president and chief operating officer for Telewest Global Inc in June 2004. He is responsible for running the company’s day to day operations. His primary responsibilities include Telewest’s network and infrastructure: residential, business and content.
Prior to this, Eric was chief operating officer and executive vice president for Mastec Inc, an infrastructure solutions provider serving north and south America. Eric has over 20 years experience in the communications and cable industries. Prior to Mastec he was president of Cablevision Lightpath, Inc, a business telecommunications company; vice president in Time Warner Cable; and group executive in Metromedia International Group – both consumer businesses. He is also a director of Sightspeed, an award winning video conferencing company in California.
Eric has an MBA in marketing from Rutgers University and a BS in economics and accounting from Long Island University.

Mr Falk von Bornstaedt, Vice president, IP & Carrier Solutions, T-Systems ICSS
Falk v. Bornstaedt holds diplomas in economics from the universities of Bonn and Paris, with a Ph.D. in Telematics in Tourism. Following his studies, he was appointed project leader at the German National Research Center in Computer Science, in the field of management information services.
Falk von Bornstaedt joined Deutsche Telekom In 1991. His first position was in the controlling unit at Deutsche Telekom headquarters, where he was responsible for the board and executive information system of DT, the first intranet within the company. In 1993 he became Director in the office of the chairman of the supervisory board and in 1994 Assistant to the CEO for international affairs.
In 1996 he joined the Multimedia Division where he took over the international IP products portfolio, initiating the development of a Global IP VPN product. In 1999, Falk switched to the Data Communications Business Unit, leading product management for Global Intranet Services.
In 2000 he started the GRX project, an extranet for mobile operators. Falk von Bornstaedt joined T-Systems International Carrier Sales & Services In 2001, where he is Vice President, Product Management IP/Data.

Mr Stephen Wellman, Executive Editor, FierceVoIP
Stephen Wellman is Executive Editor of FierceWireless and a highly regarded thought leader in the telecom industry. Stephen is a frequent commentator for the media and has been featured in a number of major media outlets, including the BBC, the Washington Post, the Contra Costa Times, and Florida Today. Stephen often chairs telecom conferences, most recently Carriers World 2004 in London. Before joining FierceMarkets in 2001, he spearheaded editorial initiatives at numerous technology companies. Mr Roger Wilson, ECTA
Roger Wilson joined the European Competitive Telecommunications Association (ECTA) as Managing Director in April 2003. He is responsible for both the strategic development and day-to-day management of the leading association for alternative telecommunications operators in Europe. ECTA provides regulatory, lobbying and business development services to around 150 member companies, and has established itself as an authoritative voice in favour of competition and choice with national regulators and the European Commission.
With over 15 years in senior management positions in the communications sector, both in the UK and in Europe, Roger has experience in building and developing competitive telecommunications companies during the liberalisation and deregulation of the industry. With the support of an experienced staff of professionals, he is committed to ensuring that ECTA provides an outstanding level of service to its member companies.
He is also a founder and non-executive Chairman of Adept Telecom Ltd, a UK voice reseller and Cryosystems Ltd, a leading-edge technology venture with applications in the mobile sector.
Prior to his appointment at ECTA Roger was Chief Executive at Urband, a telecoms joint venture between Thames Water and the Lattice Group which built and operated a wholesale broadband network within the London sewers. From 1998 to 2000 he was Chief Executive of Bresnan Communications, one of the leading providers of telecommunications and cable television services in Poland. Prior to that Roger spent 5 years with Telewest where he was successively Senior Vice President of Operations, and Managing Director of the company’s Residential Division.
